Artistic Statement

 

I have always found that dancing is a way to free myself, escape the world around me, and live in another for a short while. I’ve always been a lover of comics and fandom culture in general to bring these characters that are beloved by many into a dance setting and tell their stories in a way that has never been done before. I want to create pieces with familiar characters from comics, fandom, and pop culture to tell their stories and bring them to life. She also sparked a love of reading and book wishes to bring those stories to like as well

 My work will take people out of this world and into another to forget about their problems and worries of the outside world and take them into another. I want to create these works to bring dance into a niche group of people and allow dance to expand even more into crowds they never thought to touch. Bring more smiles and inspiration for broadening the dance horizons.
